Northumberland and Beau monde Salon and Spa.

I`m not sure if I`ve already mentioned during my short time of blogging but I live in the most northernmost County of England -   Northumberland.

Oh I really do love it!   Blake Shelton sings about "God`s Country" - Well now, I would describe Northumberland as mine.  The area is predominantly rural with no City but includes some very historical market Towns.  What`s not to love!  We have rolling and rugged countryside, iconic castles, lots of places of interest and last but definitely not least the most beautiful expansive beaches.  The place is good for the soul and my own sense of wellbeing. Within this Blog I would like to share with you a place I have visited many times which absolutely enhances and epitomizes wellbeing and wakening of the senses - Beau monde Salon and Spa, set in the small village of Lucker, which sits in a north easterly area of Northumberland, approximately 4 miles from Bamburgh and I absolutely personally recommend it as a "Must visit and see" venture.

I have to tell you at this point that I am not the world`s most glamorous, pampered or very tailored person.  I can go months without even thinking about having a hair cut and can`t say I even brush my hair on a daily basis, consequently on one occasion attended an appointment at Beau monde with what could only be described as a mat on the back of my head.   So you can imagine that my visits to Beau monde are filled with luxury and bliss and probably in direct contrast to the horror of the Hair stylists, Beauticians and Spa Assistants most likely thinking OMG look at the state of her.

If I had to describe Beau monde in one word it would be Serene.  The air of professionalism and expertise is palpable .  I experienced this during a recent back massage.  I don`t know about anyone else but the older I get the less body confident I become, as certain areas of the body are not quite where they once were and rolls have appeared where I didn`t have rolls.  Its definitely not to be flaunted about willy Nilly that`s for sure.   But I can honestly say, hand on heart that Beau monde staff provide treatments with discretion and dignity, reducing any anxiety initially felt, encouraging absolute submission to total relaxation.  So much so that nodding off and waking yourself up with a snort reminiscent of some sort of drooling canine is a given.

Each room is filled with sensual, relaxing and invigorating aromas radiating from a mixture of Temple spa and Natura Bissé spa products.

I suppose all Spas claim that their products are the Bees knees but from a lay person`s perspective these products ooze quality and ultimately feel fantastic on my skin.  The heat of the treatment bed seems to relax every muscle of my body whilst the sound of calming music helps with that "you could be anywhere" feeling.  Consequently I leave the room feeling 20 years old again....... ha, well that could be a slight exaggeration but you get the Gist.

My favourite facial at Beau monde is the CACI.  It is the most unusual sensation providing anti-ageing via micro-current technology using metal rollers and prongs. It does sound barbaric doesn`t it?!?!  Don`t worry it doesn`t hurt a bit! Its actually very relaxing.   It is a little pricey as to get good results they recommend a course of ten but believe me they were worth every penny.  My skin did appear smoother, plumper and more youthful.....just fantastic.

I can`t leave this blog without mentioning my Spa day, experienced with my Sister.  We had the most fantastic time. If you want to spend quality time in quality surroundings then Beau monde Spa is the place for you. It oozes luxury from the minute you arrive.

Drinks on arrival were provided following taking of a few personal details for safety purposes, a mini tour of the facilities was conducted then the day began.  We were ushered to the changing room by a very friendly Spa Assistant who was very attentive and informative.  In the designated locker we found all that we needed for the day: a lovely fluffy robe, spa slippers, towel and a small bag with Temple spa hair products.  Surprisingly we had the pool to ourselves. OMG this was amazing!  We jumped from the glorious iridescent pool, to jacuzzi, to bubble pool, to sauna, to steam room and then relaxed on loungers at the pool edge.......It was heaven.  Although we brought magazines intending to read, we talked and talked, gossiped and gossiped.....not much reading done.

We were called for treatments mid morning.  We were able to experience them at the same time and both opted for a relaxing 30 minute facial then a 30 minute Work it out massage. hmmmmm.... we still laugh about this yet, as we looked at each other with dismay on leaving our treatment rooms.  I now feel it is my duty to give you a heads up if you are intending booking a Spa day. Read the description of your treatment!!  The "Work it out" massage is exactly what it says ....A really deep tissue massage!!!  My Sister asked if it looked as if she still had her spine..haha!  We just couldn`t believe that we both picked polar opposite treatments!  We cried with laughter the rest of the day.  Oh by the way, both treatment were Fantastic!

Time passed too quickly and it was lunchtime!   Lunch was provided in a room upstairs overlooking the pool.  We had requested the afternoon tea option and well, I can only say that there is no way we could eat it all.  The food was delicious, an impressive stacked mixture of savory and sweet homemade items were on offer all provided I understand by the village Pub, the Apple Inn.

We went for a little rest after our lunch in the Relaxation Room. Oh this was heaven.  The room was dimly lit with a crackling fire on the screen. We could help ourselves to fresh Cucumber water and fresh fruit.  We lay on the fur covered loungers with blankets supplied.  Following a little cat nap we decided to have a last dip in the pool and use of the facilities.  Homeward bound.

Words to describe my Spa day would be Exclusive, Luxury, Relaxing, Quality, Friendly and last but not least Perfect.  Thank you Beau monde.
